Independence Day

July 4th is the celebration of Independence Day in the States.  Cookouts, parties, parades and other celebrations are commonplace.  We spent the day at a place called Greenfield Village in southern Michigan, not far from Detroit in a town called Dearborn.  It's a terrific place full of all sorts of period specific displays showing things like Thomas Edison's lab and workspaces, Noah Webster's home (known for his english dictionary), etc.

Ironically my most patriotic feeling image from the day was this nice little shot from just outside a wonderful little...frozen custard stand.  :-)
