After The Zamboni is Done

I got to watch and shoot some youth hockey yesterday.  A friend's son plays so I shot some images of the game and was able to walk around the rink after the game and shoot some of the ice and boards and stuff.  I don't know much about hockey but I can tell it's as active and has as strong a following as just about any other sport I've been around lately.  This facility was impressive.  It's in Strongsville which is in the Cleveland metro area and is called the OBM Arena, website is

I shot this image after the game was over (friend's team won, 2-1) and the Zamboni had just finished resurfacing the ice.  The boards open where the Zamboni enters and exits so I put the camera on the ledge of one of the boards and shot the standard three exposures quickly before the guys came back to close up.  You may notice the nets are set off to the sides, making room for the Zamboni to drive around the ice.

I was hoping for some nice color and contrast and the reflections of the lights on the still wet ice.  That's more or less what I have here and I'm pretty happy with it.  Classic photo of opportunity.  Just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
