Old Abandoned Ferry On Lake Pontchartrain

On the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain I found this rusting hulk of a ferry that I assume moved cars and vehicles from the north side of the lake closer to New Orleans.  I can't believe it was faster taking the ferry across versus driving around but it may have been at one point.  This was shot with the rising sun behind me about a mile south of downtown Madisonville, Louisiana.  If you look closely you get the double benefit of a setting moon and a distant lighthouse.
