Many ski resorts and winter recreation areas offer some sort of tubing experience. They usually have groomed tube runs that are chutes of some sort on a moderate slope. Riders jump on inner tubes either alone or in large, tandem groups and slide down the hill. Our local ski area called Brandywine (www.bmbw.com) has exactly this sort of setup. Their operation is called Polar Blast.
Just recently I took my son and a few other similar-aged boys over for a night of tubing. It was a cold night with a full moon. Since I wasn't tubing myself I shot some pictures. The staff looked at me a little funny but were very cool about me walking around with a tripod. As long as I mostly stayed out of the way, that is.
Anyway, here's what it looked like along the surface of one of the tubing lanes or chutes back toward the rest of the ski resort. The resort had their snow guns running this particular night so it make for an interesting effect around the lights.
