Before The Show Goes On

For the first time I can remember I was lucky enough to get some 'back stage' access to a really cool place that I knew from prior visits was going to look awesome in photographs.  In this case it was Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio.  I was part of a small tour of both the State and Ohio Theaters in the last couple of days.  We got an hour or so to shoot the lobby and other areas of one of the theaters then actually got to shoot in the house of the other and what I recall to be the State Theater.  I set the camera and tripod up in one of the lower balconies near stage right looking back toward the ceiling and the rest of the seats.  The light reflecting off the seats comes from what I learned is called a ghost light set on the stage.

  1. This looks GREAT! I've uploaded my shots, but haven't really had a chance to mess around with them yet! Thanks for setting up that shoot!
