Earlier today a bunch of kids got together for a football game. One of the teams from my home town of Hudson played a team from a neighboring community. The fact that it happened isn't remarkable - things like this happen thousands of times on Saturdays and Sundays in the States this time of year. What's remarkable is that these kids met at 6am and were on the field and warming up for a full contact football game literally as the sun was rising with temps near 40F. Playing this sport so early in the morning is rare. I'm lucky enough to know a bunch of the kids and coaches for this particular team. They're a remarkable group.
I shot this as the team was warming up. It's a standard set of three exposures combined together. Wide angle lens, no tripod - I set the camera on the ground and tipped it up a bit by setting the bottom of the lens (canon 10-22) on it's lens cap which was flat against the ground. Needless to say I was winging it a bit on composition.
