It's a wet and windy night in northern Ohio while I type this post, which I think calls for a bit of desert. In this case it's Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. There are arches in this rock formation on the lower left but it had so many other shapes that I couldn't resist including everything in one photo.
Interestingly, the night before I shot this photo it rained, hard. There were puddles everywhere through our morning hikes. The locals told us how rare it was to see puddles on the ground in late July. Not so interesting is that just the day before I knocked over my tripod and broke my favorite wide angle lens (canon 10-22). Thinking of hiking this park without it still makes me a little sad (this photo is from July 2011). But I got a new one about two months ago. And that kind of rocks.
