I've shot this pier in Santa Barbara quite a few times. I'm lucky enough to get to travel there a couple of times each year and visit this spot each time I go. Usually it's very California when I'm there - blue skies, pretty mountains inland and nice view out to sea. This day as a little different. It was wet and overcast and relatively dark right even after sunrise so I grabbed some shots of underneath the pier and tried to go along with the mood. Ironically two hours after I shot this on the way to the office in Goleta, it was back to being the California coast again.
