This image is similar to another recent post I made except it's a panorama of three separate images, stitched together vertically. I was standing in the mud and muck again between turtles and snakes snapping away. Really, a snake swam by as I was shooting. It was cool. There are so few poisonous anythings in Northern Ohio I don't really worry too much about what I'm going to step on or scare. I'm more worried about poison ivy than anything else.
So, on to this image. It's amped up in terms of post process effects showing lots of color and contrast in the sky along with decent bright sun poking through. What I was really after this particular afternoon was that cool look you get when sun rays poke through the clouds and reflect off moisture and other stuff in the atmosphere but that didn't quite work out. If you look really closely you can see a meager bit of sun ray action just above the horizon.
And it was pretty dark when I shot this set of exposures, shielded by that large thicker cloud bank. If I would have had more time I could have waited for that opening in the clouds to move toward me but I was already late to get a kid at practice and showing up muddy and smelling like a lake was bad enough. Being 30 minutes late would have been really bad.
