Cathedral Grove, Vancouver Island

Near the middle of Vancouver Island on the drive from Nanaimo to Long Beach is there amazing little stop that you almost miss if you're driving too fast called Cathedral Grove.  It's been a few years since I was there so most of the details about the forest are long forgotten but I do recall there are over a hundred old-growth (and huge) Douglas Firs here.

This shot is an example of some of my early photography.  Likely it was taken with the kids in tow so I didn't have much time to setup and compose.  And there were so many interesting things to see here that I struggled to find one thing to focus on and compose a shot based on that one interesting thing.  I'd like to say I've gotten better in the last few years but I don't think so.

Anyway, here you go.  Hope you like it.
